Linda McMahon Wins GOP Primary For Connecticut Senate Seat
HARTFORD, Previous wrestling administrative Linda McMahon has fended off a belatedly confront from past Congressman Rob Simmons to succeed the Republican backing for Connecticut’s U.S. Senate seat.
McMahon on Tuesday beat both Simmons and Weston monetary specialist Peter Schiff in the GOP primary.
Simmons had led the contest back when U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd was motionless preparation to seek re-election. He balanced his movement in May after behind the party’s backing to McMahon, and then restarts his labors in fresh weeks with TV ads reminding voters his name was still on the vote.
But McMahon, who spent more than $20 million of her possess money on the primary race, mainly unnoticed his re-entry. She now faces Democratic Attorney General Richard Blumenthal in November.
