Matt Damon informed that he refused to visit psychics to research for his role in his latest film “Hereafter” because he thinks they’re fake.
The 40-year-old actor, who plays a psychic in “Hereafter” who can see dead people confesses he didn’t even visit any real-life mystics to research his role.
“Had I found a good one I will have. What I was worried about was that it was just going to take me down the current rabbit hole of charlatans. I think a large part of that space is inhabited by pretenders, that is not to say there are not people out there who are genuinely touched in some way. I clearly didn’t get a chance to meet any of them,” contactmusic. com quoted him as saying.
However, Damon is open-minded to the idea of near-death experiences – after actor Martin Sheen told him about his own almost-fatal core attack when he was making an effort on the set of “Apocalypse Now”.
“But I did speak to Martin Sheen, who had a near-death experience on ‘Apocalypse Now’ when he had a middle attack. He informed me his incredible story one day when we got working on ‘The Departed’ together.[ad#Google Adsense]
“It’s a really well catalogued undergo that a lot of people have had. One person I read was legally dead for 28 minutes, which I think is the record.”
Damon also admitted his discussions hold made him less afraid of death.
“It’s interesting. I assume most people are afraid of death, but the households who have had such experiences aren’t. That looks to be one of the things properties have in common – that they don’t have any fear of it any more.
