Ricky Martin and Kristin Chenoweth are to attain 22nd annual Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards next month.
The AP reports such a Martin will be looking at the ‘Vito Russo Award’, which is bestowed upon an openly LGBT celebrity who promotes equal rights.
Previous honourees have included Rosie O’Donnell, Alan Cumming and Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon.
The organisation’s ‘Vanguard Award’, that is presented to a star who promoters increased visibility for the LGBT community, will go to Chenoweth.
In May 2010, the actress criticised a Newsweek projection that asserted overly gay actors may not convincingly play straight roles.
The GLAAD Media Awards are to take place on March 19 in New York City.
