Written by Ricky Martin says many of his fans around the world have told him they may not listen to his music any more after he confessed he is gay.
Every gay is “born gay” and that is just his nature, the 39-year-old Puerto Rican singer told Brazilian magazine Veja.
“I wanted the country to understand that to love in the way I love is not revolutionary, it’s a natural thing, my nature made me this way. Every gay is born gay. Social life is opposed to that nature and that’s where the conflicts start,” Martin said.
He stated several of his fans and “many people” around the world hold told him the current they’re not going to listen to his music any more, ever since he came out as gay.
Martin, who was once a member of the Hispanic boy band Menudo, has two children born in 2008 to a surrogate mother.
He stated it was the way his children looked at him that led him to accept publicly his sexual orientation.
