Roy Skelton, the famous voice artist, has died at 79. Roy was quite famous in particular with the kids because he got huge popularity for providing his background vocals for Zippy and George characters in the classic Kid’s TV series ‘Rainbow’ from 1973 to 1992.
Roy got much fame as well for his voice over for the memorable character of Doctor Who that lasted from 1967 to 1988.
Roy Skelton was also an actor and he started his career of acting in 1955 enacting various roles in kid’s show A Rubovian Legend. Throughot his career span, he continued balancing his voice and live-action making appearances in series like Z-Cars, Invahoe, Take a Chance and The Bill.
He died of heart stroke.
