Selena Gomez has labeled on her fans to donate to a UNICEF fund the has been established to help recovery efforts in Haiti.
In early 2010, the island nation was walloped by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, which led to thousands of Haitians losing their homes.
In a video posted on her official YouTube page, Gomez insisted that a multitude of financial aid is needed now because the country’s humanitarian crisis is ongoing.
“I desire to remind everyone the current Haiti still needs our help,” she said.
She continued: “While I thank each and every one of you for coming together one year ago for the Hope for Haiti Now telethon where we raised $66m (£42m), unfortunately, when rebuilding an entire nation the currency goes fast and Haiti still needs our help.”
UNICEF’s ‘Haiti365′ fund is seeking out to soar more as opposed to $127m (£81m) by the end of the year in order to assist those who have been displaced from this homes in the wake of last year’s natural disaster.
Earlier this month, fellow advocate Sean Penn revealed that he plans to continue his humanitarian work in the country for the rest of his life.
