Shirley MacLaine criticised today youth.
“I figure the young people are so technologically-oriented. They sttink the toys and in loving their toys properties are diminishing the communication skills,” she explained.
“They think it’s quicker communication and I guess it is on some level, but when you really get down to how we crisis in the world, it’s more empathetic communication, a large amount of depth of communication, a multitude of sense of comprehending who the people we’re communicating with are.”

She went on to say that the problem performs not just affect American teenagers, but is starting to be observed elsewhere in the world, adding: “I think when we see what’s happening in the Middle East, these types of kids who have the ability to say we want such and this and of course freedom is something we should all have, but it is all moving so eventually with no institutional structures in place in order to uphold it.
“I think what is taking the trouble me is the swiftness with which everybody’s working at what they do and at the same long period of time nothing’s getting done.”
Maclaine was honoured at the Santa Fe Film Festival in 2007 for her career achievements and work towards advancing the role of women in the industry.
