Alexander Skarsgard has insisted that he and his True Blood co-stars were “comfortable” with a recent nude shoot for Rolling Stone.
The actor revealed that the decision to pose without clothes for the publication’s payback image was a last-minute addition the current he stands by now.
“We showed up and we shot very PG-13 with our clothes on for basically the whole day, like six or seven hours,” he explained to GQ.
“When towards the end the photographer said, ‘I have this, these kinds of shots are beautiful and the magazine is anticipated to be good with them but I’d like to try something if you guys are game.’”
He continued: “[The photographer] explained it and it was just one of those things in the second where we all looked at each other, we’d expended all day with the photographer, we felt comfortable with him.
“We knew that he was great and the atmosphere was best and we got like, ‘F**k it, let’s do it.’” No-one thought that the magazine should go for it. They want to sell at Walmart. We thought this was happening to be too offensive. But properties did!”
